Remixing the Beatles' Revolution #9

As you've seen, the Beatles now have an official video game release. Perhaps that means they (as a business entity) are ready to make deals about other things.
And that brings up a notion I've had for years: Remixing their audio collage Revolution #9.
I've long wanted to do something with that track. In the seventies, I thought it would be fun to do a live cover of. For instance, there's a repeated figure that involves a line from orchestral strings followed by a horn beeping. I thought of learning to play that orchestral part as power chords on a guitar, and having a bicycle horn mounted on the guitar's end, for the horn sound.
But this century is about remixing. And I thought of two ways to build remix packs without the band's help:
1) Using the track, isolate each sample as well as possible. Since many samples are used more than once, this would be well within the abilities of people here.
2) Search out source recordings for each sample. I wouldn't be surprised if hardcore Beatles fansites have done much of the legwork on this one, as far as identifying the sources.
But now, perhaps electronic musicians can petition the band for an official pack of samples. Anybody here up to asking?

I'll forgo a dissertation on my gut feeling that making a Guitar Hero game of the Beatles is sacrilegious. One option for your project you may want to check out is Melodyne and how it can now "pick apart" a musical piece and re-arrange any part of it. http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=dna

I read in the papers last night that Lucy from"Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" fame just past away at age 46 after a long battle with Lupus. Apparently Julian and her had stayed in contact over the years and were... albeit distant... friends.

As for the Beatles... well the extremely over priced box set re-issue thing and then the Rock Band/Gweetar crap 'bout did it for me.
