Song Page: Down Here, Over There
This song is structured around a guitar recording I made where I detuned the guitar until I found a nice and low, yet playable tuning. From there, I built out the drums to support the changes, then learned the progression on my bass.
I released a demo of this last year, and finally got around to adjusting the mix and the ending. The originaly feedback on the song was that it needed more, that the empty spaces should be filled with something like drum trickery. I gave it a try, and ended up deleting the changes, I found the piece works best with less.
I have no idea what 'genre' this is. Feel free to give a listen and post what genre you feel it should be listed in.
Enjoy!

down tempo . missed the original demo, but this has a great feel to it. summertime feel. maybe like lazily riding or driving the horses with no particular agenda. I love the string buzz you get throughout the piece. I agree the minimal works perfectly - I don't think you should add a thing - other than a nice warm day, a cold beer & nuthin to do. will dl.

that was a byproduct of the tuning being so low - at least on my guitar that seemed to be the lowest I could go while still retaining a good tone. This was on an Ovation Clelebrity.
Downtemp eh? ok. I put it under 'alternative' simply because it was more guitar/bass/drums oriented, and has some standard rock ideas here and there.
Glad you liked it.
This might be a good one to put out for remixes. I'd like to hear how people would approach the same sample set.
Thanks for the listen

I can definitely hear lyrics in this- to the rythm right at 50 secs:
drum set: bum bum pack'a bum bum pack'a bum bum pack'a woom de dumm
Vocals: can you share please...
your milk & cook-ies...
Good job dude.

Thanks for checking it out I still do - there's a somewhat recent minimal glitchy track on my artist page This was still done in ACID like most my tracks.

We are using a new forums software which is now functioning off of the ArtistServer database - so it uses your artistname for your name on the forums. If you change your artistname on artistserver, the next time you signin to the forums, your name should be changed here on the forums too.

wow man, very nice. great guitar sound. everything fits together in a nice tight package. delivered.
what would send this piece over the edge for me would be a wailing synth solo.
